I have known Fraser in a professional capacity for around 25 years now, predominantly through ultrasound courses run by veterinary associations where I have been involved in training vets in the use of ultrasound, where Fraser has helped ‘drive’ the equipment throughout the courses. Clearly, Fraser's understanding of the technical aspects of ultrasound technology, and the intimate knowledge he has of (seemingly) every ultrasound machine is exceptional. However, he also has a wealth of knowledge and experience in divining what it is that individual vets need or want from their machines in order to get the most out of them. He has an ability to set up ultrasound equipment for various applications and create the required presets that is second to none. There is a huge comfort in that reliability.
Having known Fraser since his days at Dynamic Imaging, I have seen his ultrasound skills and technical knowledge of systems develop through the years to become one of the 'go to' people for equipment recommendations and advice. He seems to have an innate ability to get the best out of an ultrasound scanner in all imaging modes and knows just what to 'tweak' in order to optimise an image with minimal fuss. Through various ultrasound courses where I have lectured and led the practical sessions Fraser has always proven his ability to teach users the system controls, what to adjust and importantly, when to make adjustments through a calm and methodical approach, taking time to make sure that they have understood the principles being taught.
Fraser was great in resolving all the issues with our ultrasound machine. He was able to guide us on what adjustments we needed to make to our scanner in order for it to work at its best for us. With Fraser setting some default configurations, the image quality is now so much better for us. Fraser took time teaching us how best to adjust the image according to what we are imaging, allowing a more effective, satisfying and confident approach to our ultrasound scanning going forward. Thank you for coming through to the surgery to carry out a training session outlining how to use our ultrasound scanner correctly, explaining the controls in each mode and the right time to use each of them. All of the vets found the training very beneficial and even though some of them have been on clinical courses this course perfectly complimented these, we are unaware of any other course that carries out this tailored training on site using the surgeries own equipment. Straight after the training our vets had much more enthusiasm and confidence to use the scanner and in fact were starting to scan cases later that afternoon and put all the lessons learned into practice. Thoroughly recommended.
I thoroughly enjoyed Fraser's workshop. I found it to be very comprehensive and informative and boosted my confidence with ultrasounding day-to-day. Many features I hadn't even known possible were shown to me, making ultrasounds a lot quicker for me. Fraser was also able to tailor his workshop for everyone, despite the varying degrees of experience, so everyone was able to gain something from the day. Highly recommend!
The training was great encouragement for our recent graduate vets to build enough confidence to pick up an ultrasound scanner probe and get going.

The ultrasound knobology course with Fraser exceeded all our expectations. It was comprehensive, covering from aspects of physics fundamentals to advanced image optimization techniques.

Fraser helped us understand how to get the most out of ultrasound machine. Having struggled for too long on how to get the scanner to give us a good image, Fraser broke down each step in a concise and easy way to understand and remember. Our recent in-practice training day with Fraser was a great success and very well-received by all our vets and vet-student too. It was a very good CPD, highly recommend it. Fraser's knowledge and friendly approach helped me, and my team get the most out of our ultrasound machine, helping us optimise image quality, and even showing us some new features, I wasn't aware our machine could do. This course helped me put into practice the clinical knowledge I've gained through my small animal diagnostic imaging certificate, by using our ultrasound machine to its full potential. Has I said at one point "life changing". Very useful and practical.
Fraser came to go through and help us with our ultrasound to ensure we can use it effectively. The vets that were involved included myself training for a certificate in small animal imaging and a new graduate whose experience of scanning was limited. He managed to tailor the session to all of us, improving my knowledge of the machine and ways to implement it in my certificate and also build the confidence of the new graduate who is now happy to scan in practice. The training will help anyone, and it will also generate revenue as everyone who undergoes it will be a lot more confident to go to the ultrasound machine, rather than it being left in the cupboard.
Fun and informative ultrasound training session. I haven’t previously deviated far from the machine pre-sets but feel confident after your training that I can adjust the settings appropriately to get the best images for each tissue and patient. Being able to learn on our machine was so much more useful than generic training.
Fraser is so easy to work with. So friendly, helpful and adaptable. We made CPD scheduling hard work for him, but he was committed to finding a time and structure that would fit best with us, resulting in a hugely well-attended and beneficial evening for our vet team. He is an encyclopaedia of information and knows how to translate this into practical training. Fraser has the practice's best interests at heart to enable us to optimize our equipment and skill base.
