Ultrasound Scanner Training didn’t have to travel far for an evening’s training session at Bard Vets in Dumfries earlier this week. The surgery have a Mindray Z5 Vet scanner, and even though the vets had some experience in both abdominal and basic cardiac imaging, we still went over the basics of each of the imaging modes again. It was good to see the vets understanding the principles, the controls and starting to use more of the scanners functions and features to optimise their images.
Even if you’ve been using ultrasound for a while, it’s still worth learning more about the controls of your ultrasound scanner and unlocking it’s true potential. A common comment I hear is ‘Oh, that’s what that button is for’, and one of our sessions could help you to understand your scanner and allow you to confidently use more of its features to assist with an accurate diagnosis.
