Ultrasound Scanner Training visited Hart Vets in Bicester recently to carry out a training session on both their Philips IU22 and IE33 ultrasound scanners. In an initial discussion with the team at the surgery, Fraser Yule discussed the main issues the users were facing with the scanners and tailored a session to suit their needs, primarily in building confidence with optimisation of images through correct use of controls and getting more out of their cardiac scans.
On the day, we had a brilliant session, with the whole team being interactive and gaining vital experience on using the systems, with some great feedback:
“Fraser provided in-house training for 5 of our vets, with a range of ultrasound experience. He tailored the session to our abilities, and we felt at ease to ask questions throughout (however daft!). The teaching was clinically relevant rather than physics heavy; we enjoyed it and learnt a lot. The session has significantly improved our confidence in altering the settings on our ultrasound machines to optimise the images we can achieve, and has also helped us understand the limitations of our scanning”.
Understanding how to quickly change the main controls on your scanner is fundamental in getting the best results and it’s important to know where they are and which to adjust to best effect. Our sessions could help you to understand your scanner and allow you to confidently use more of its features to assist with an accurate diagnosis.
